Americans (Skilled Trades) welcome to come north to make Lynn Lake, Manitoba great again.
Americans Wanted, (Skilled Trades)
Lynn Lake Manitoba is looking for skilled Trades people to move North and will help them get there.
"Lynn lake has a lot to offer skilled American workers wanting a quieter life ....
“If we can find a way to help ‘em out we’ll look at options, if they’re coming out of the states we can look at sponsoring them… the town has a lot of property, maybe there’s something to look at there,” he said.
If they’re interested in immigrating and want to come up here, we have a lifestyle
advantage to offer and we’d welcome them.”
“Have a skilled trade ?? Let’s talk. We may have a place for you here,” read the tweet from the Town of Lynn Lake’s official Twitter account on Tuesday morning. And, according to the town’s chief administrative officer (CAO), “it’s completely serious.”
In terms of quality of life and access to the great outdoors, Lynn Lake is hard to match.
“There’s some of the best hunting, fishing, canoeing and kayaking you can possibly find anywehere, we think that will appeal to some people,” Stryde said.
The seriousness of the appeal, he reiterated, does come from a legitimate need for skilled trades people.
“We don’t have a certified electrician in town, or a certified plumber,” he said. “We don’t have a hair dresser in town, which is also a red seal trade.”
Have any Gold Mining Skills ? Another Gold Rush is just beginning in Lynn Lake.....
"Lynn Lake represents a significant opportunity as one of the highest grade open pit gold deposits in Canada with excellent infrastructure already in place." - Alomos Gold

1/2 acre woodland in a Ghost Town on a Ghost Island on Lake Huron Island $4,900
Adjacent to Manitoulin Island this 1/2 acre lot on Cockburn Island is steps away from
the beach at Otter Bay.
Tolsmaville lot on Cockburn Island with access to water. Treed 0.5 acres fronting on F Street with 82.5 feet. $4,900
Cockburn Island is an island in the Canadian province of Ontario, located in the Manitoulin District. It is separated from the westernmost point of Manitoulin Island by the Mississagi Strait, and from Michigan's Drummond Island by the False Detour Channel.
The island is incorporated as and coterminous with the municipal Township of Cockburn Island. With an official population of zero in the Canada 2011 Census, and populations varying between zero and ten people in the previous three censuses, Cockburn Island is the least populated incorporated municipality in Canada. However, the population grows significantly in the summer, as an estimated two to three hundred people maintain cottages and summer homes on the island. Township offices are located on the mainland in Thessalon in Algoma District.
The island is not connected to either Manitoulin or Drummond Islands, or to the mainland, by bridge or ferry service. The municipality maintains a marina at Tolsmaville for private boats and float planes, and a small grass airstrip located west of Tolsmaville provides a landing area for private planes

A very entertaining entry from the Great Lakes Cruising Blog ..... " All the guidebooks we read talked about Tolsmaville being a ghost town, with absolutely no businesses, many abandoned houses, old rusting jalopies parked by the marina, and a handful of former residents returning in the fall for hunting season. So we pulled into the Tolsmaville Dock on Cockburn Island expecting to handle our lines ourselves (like we have to when at our homeport in Chicago but nowhere else). As we were coming in, though, a pick-up truck appeared out of nowhere, and a guy jumped out to help us with our lines. Another guy from a neighboring boat came over to help as well. Then, after ensuring we were secure, they quickly left, barely giving us time to thank them....
.... We enjoyed a lovely evening around the stone fire pit, staying much longer than we should because it was one of those nights that flew by because of the fascinating conversation. Joe had lived in Meldrum Bay either full time or summers since the 70s. He told great stories about summers "back in the day" when there would be 60 boats in Meldrum Bay (hard for us to imagine). His father still lives in Meldrum Bay and is the owner of the rooster we heard in the morning when we were at the marina.
Suddenly, though, at the stroke of midnight the fire went out and Joe, Beth, and Dave magically disappeared without a trace leaving us alone in the silent stillness of Cockburn Island with only the basket of freshly picked oyster mushrooms that they had given us as a hint that maybe it had been real. We looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders, and said, "Well, I guess the guidebooks were right. It really is a ghost town."

Land and Gold ? on the Tulameen River, British Columbia, Canada for $55,500
Bring your dreams, bring your plans, and your pans - this lot is perfect for you! Walking distance to town with easy access to the Tulameen River, known for its Placer Gold and Platinum.
The Tulameen River is a tributary of the Similkameen River in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The Tulameen River is part of the Columbia River drainage basin, being a tributary of the Similkameen River, which flows into the Okanagan River, which flows into the Columbia River.
"Gold and platinum deposits have been found over the lower 40 kilometres of the river. Most recorded production and exploration has occurred along two stretches. The upper stretch begins about 2 kilometres west of Tulameen and continues up the river for 12 kilometres to the mouth of Champion Creek. The lower stretch begins at Coalmont, just above the mouth of Granite Creek, and continues southeast for 19 kilometres to Princeton. See Tulameen River (092HSE235) for a detailed review of the lower section.
Metals found along the Tulameen River tend to occur in old sinuous channels buried deep below glacial gravels, which yield only spotty values. Gold occurs in rough, angular or slightly flattened, rarely well-flattened nuggets. Some of the nuggets contain abundant white quartz. One nugget found near the mouth of Lawless (Bear) Creek weighed 250 grams (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1932, page 140). Platinum forms small rounded grains of uniform size. They are smaller than the gold nuggets and are commonly pitted. Such nuggets produced at a hydraulic mine just below Britton (Eagle) Creek weighed 7.8 to 15.6 grams (Geological Survey of Canada Memoir 26, page 132). Larger platinum nuggets often have a coating or included crystals of cumulate chromite, sometimes with intergrown magnetite and inclusions of olivine (CIM Bulletin, June, 1976). Platinum is also found to occur in pebbles of olivine and chromite (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1924, page 176). The gravels worked along the upper river also yielded black sands comprised of magnetite and chromite, with significant gold and platinum values (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1923, page 187). The ratio of gold to platinum recovered in this part of the river is generally about 1 to 1, but is observed to decrease upstream to the mouth of Britton Creek, where it is 1 to 2 (Geological Survey of Canada Memoir 26, pages 132, 144; 243, page 59). Small quantities of native copper and gold-bearing pellets of tetrahedrite also occur in these placer deposits" http://minfile.gov.bc.ca/Summary.aspx?minfilno=092HNE199
